Love on the Line

I love you LORD. ;)

HOME FOR THE AGED (Catbalogan City)

This is the story of Nanay Elena and Tatay Tuting. Para sa kanila, love conquers all. Kumbaga, 'you and me against the world'. Their "happily ever after" started with a PAYONG. Nagkukumpuni si Tatay Tuting ng mga sirang payong, radyo, etc. Sabi ni Nanay Elena, love at first sight daw nung nakita niya si Tatay Tuting nung iniabot niya yung sirang payong sa kanya. Akala nila, the pages of their lovestory will just end like that. Later on, they found themselves sharing the same home sa likod ng Provincial Gymnasium, sa Home for the Aged. And since then, naging 'Everyday, I love you' na ang lovestory nila...

Nanay already had his 'other-half' before Tatay Tuting, but her ex-husband laid heavy hands upon her. Sabi nga ni Nanay, "Gintataplong ak, paraghubog nak asawa." Nanay Elena and her ex- husband have children... mga professionals na raw. Kinukuha si Nanay Elena ng mga anak niya but with one condition... iiwanan niya si Tatay Tuting.

Opo, 79 years old si nanay Elena at pinili niya na iwanan... ang lahat para kay Tatay Tuting. Sabi niya kasi, "Waray na magtitimangno kan Pangga."

Totoo. "Love always protects, always hopes, always trusts, and always perseveres. Love never fails." (1Cor13:7-8)

Minsan nandun sila sa kalsada nanghihingi ng pagkain, tapos uuwi kahit isang tinapay lang ang dala nila. Hahatiin nila yun. Though their tummies are empty, their hearts are full. And the best thing is that despite their condition, they still acknowledge God. Sabi ni Nanay Elena, "Before you sleep, you pray." Sabi naman ni Tatay, "Pirme ako nahangad kay aadto pirme it Ginoo, nakita... nabati."
Sad part is that... they'll be pulling out the Home for the Aged this coming Sunday. Where would they go? On the crowded, violent streets of Catbalogan? They deserve a home. These beautiful people with gray hairs deserve love... to be shown and to be given that kind of love that brings out acceptance and fairness.
Our Lord Jesus Christ did the same thing for us... we were in need and He helped us... We were orphans and He called us in His family... We were not worthy to be loved but He loved us unconditionally.

If we were shown compassion, would it be too much for us to show others that same compassion we've experienced? wink emoticon
We know Jesus wants you to do something. A very little act of kindness will not change the world, but it would change the world of a person.

If you would want to meet them and help them in any way you can, they're still at the Provincial Gymnasium, Home for the Aged, Catbalogan City. They delight in small things. Kahit tinapay lang, o juice... God bless us all!

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." [Matthew25:40]
